HOW IT WORKS

From Opportunity to Verified Performance.

We assess and quantify the opportunity, engineer the vessel-specific solution, coordinate installation and commission onboard, then verify and sustain performance through continued monitoring.

Clear responsibilities, deliverables and decision points at every stage.

01 — Assess & Quantify

Establish the Baseline and Build the Business Case.

eMarine reviews the vessel’s existing systems, operating profile and available data to establish the baseline and quantify the technical and commercial opportunity. If the available information is insufficient, the assessment may include an onboard survey.

Input

  • System drawings and control descriptions
  • Equipment information and available operating data
  • Vessel operating profile
  • Relevant operating and commercial assumptions

eMarine Engineering

  • Reviews the existing system and operating principles
  • Identifies inefficient operating patterns and missing information
  • Establishes the baseline and actual system demand
  • Quantifies expected savings, investment and payback

Deliverable

  • Feasibility study
  • Recommended technical concept
  • Estimated energy, fuel, CO₂ and financial savings
  • Defined scope, assumptions, investment and expected payback
Decision GateDoes the quantified business case justify moving into detailed engineering?

02 — Engineer

Convert the Concept Into an Installation-Ready Design.

Following project approval, the concept is converted into the vessel-specific control, electrical and installation documentation required for implementation.

Input

  • Approved project scope
  • Final vessel and interface documentation
  • Installation and operational constraints

eMarine Engineering

  • Develops the control philosophy and functional description
  • Defines operating modes, setpoints, alarms and interlocks
  • Specifies equipment, sensors and system interfaces
  • Prepares installation, commissioning and test documentation

Deliverable

  • Approved engineering package
  • System architecture and I/O documentation
  • Installation package
  • Commissioning and test plan
Project MilestoneDesign approved and released for implementation.

03 — Install & Commission

Integrate, Test and Tune the Solution Onboard.

eMarine can deliver the project on a turnkey basis, taking responsibility for coordination and execution while approved installation subcontractors carry out the physical installation. Alternatively, the shipowner or shipyard can perform the installation using eMarine’s engineering and installation package. Projects can be executed during normal vessel operation, port stays or dry-dock. eMarine always performs the final commissioning.

Flexible Installation Model

Turnkey by eMarine

eMarine takes overall responsibility for planning, coordination and delivery. Approved installation subcontractors perform the physical installation under eMarine’s project management.

Shipowner or Shipyard Installation

The shipowner’s technical organization, appointed contractors or the shipyard can perform the installation using eMarine’s approved engineering and installation package.

Operation or Dry-dock

Installation can be coordinated during vessel operation and port stays or completed during a planned yard period or dry-dock.

Always Commissioned by eMarine

Regardless of who installs the equipment, eMarine performs the commissioning.

eMarine verifies equipment, sensors, signals and interfaces; tests operating modes, alarms, interlocks and fallback functions; tunes the control parameters under relevant operating conditions; and completes the technical handover.

  • System and signal verification
  • Functional and safety testing
  • Control tuning under operating conditions
  • Commissioning records and operator handover
Project MilestoneCommissioning accepted and the solution released for normal operation.

04 — Verify & Sustain

Confirm the Result and Maintain Performance.

After commissioning, actual consumption and system performance are compared with the agreed baseline. The achieved result is documented and continued monitoring identifies deviations and further optimization opportunities.

Input

  • Normal vessel operation
  • Access to the agreed performance data
  • Information about relevant operational changes

eMarine Engineering

  • Reviews actual consumption and system performance
  • Compares performance with the agreed baseline
  • Evaluates operating conditions and deviations
  • Identifies corrective actions and optimization opportunities

Deliverable

  • Documented performance result
  • Verified energy, fuel, CO₂ and financial savings
  • Actual versus expected performance
  • Recommended actions and continued follow-up
Project MilestonePerformance verified and the ongoing follow-up model agreed.

Performance visibility and continued monitoring can be provided through eMarine Cloud and, with an active Service Agreement, supported by eMarine’s Remote Operations Center.
